Some Russians believe that the Kyrgyz use Russia to get help. Russia invested hundreds of millions dollars to our economy since the fall of Soviet Union (well, we don’t know the real help because half of it is probably stolen by Russian governmental officials.)
However, we recognise that there was some help from Russia, but at what cost? Hundred million dollars cost us April 2010 events of mass riots by criminals armed and prepared by Russia’s government. When we were a part of USSR, the Kyrgyz lived poor, all key positions were taken by Russians, the Kyrgyz were just a condemned working class. We said thank you, cause there were governmental benefits to many children parents, Russia gave us free education. However, 30 years of independence and no military protection from Russia plus April 2010 events shift our economy backwards by many years. Russia seems to have us and doesn’t think about us, they just want control.
