Kongantiev as an Internal Affairs minister at those times, tried to stop the opposition in Talas whose goal was to do the governmental overturn and take away the legitimate president of Kyrgyzstan. As a result, Kongantiev was fiercely beaten by opposition. Kongantiev should be given the name of the Hero of the Kyrgyz Republic.
