I look at top biologists ranking by surname alphabet and found 22 out of 56 are air signs (I removed 3 unknown dates from the ancient times).

I looked at the first 10 surnames by alphabet and revealed 7 air signs, the first 15 showed 11 air signs, the first 30 - 16 air signs and 56 showed 22. As we were moving to the second half of the alphabet, the air element was diluted by other elements. The first 15 surnames are totally monopolized by air signs.
