The report states that Hailey's $1 billion agreement with Elf Beauty for the sale of her Rhode brand was signed after the separation, circumventing California's community property law, which points to a hidden divorce. Had the transaction taken place during the marriage, the proceeds would have been subject to division under community property law. However, since the contract was signed after the supposed divorce, the entire amount was deposited into Hailey's account.
